Hudson/Central Public Works Office

The Public Works Department is responsible for: 

  • Administering all construction activities within county public rights-of-way
  • Maintaining and improving the county's infrastructure, including roadways, bridges, and drainage facilities 

Requirements

  • Highway Worker I
    • Six (6) months experience in civil construction work
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
    • Must have a valid driver's license, Class B CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire 
  • Highway Worker II
    • Two (2) years experience in civil construction work 
    • HIgh School Diploma or GED equivalent 
    • Must have a valid Class B CDL 
  • Highway Worker III
    • Five (5) years experience in civil construction work 
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
    • Must have a valid Class A CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain endorsements within 90 days of hire 

Those who meet the above requirements will have the ability to apply, interview, and potentially be offered a position on the day of the hiring event. All hires are contingent on candidates passing a criminal background check, DOT physical and drug screen prior to their start date.
