About the Board

The county commissioners are constitutional officers who act collectively as the governing board.

In Adams County there are five members of the Board of County Commissioners. Residents of Adams County select their district representative when they vote at election time.

The board manages the affairs of the county as authorized by the state. Powers granted to the board by the state are broad, which allow the board independence in judgment. For additional information, please review the commission's responsibilities.

Public Hearings

Adams County Public Hearings are held on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. (unless otherwise noted).

Important Meeting Information

Public Hearings are held in the First Floor Public Hearing Room at the Adams County Government Center located at 4430 S Adams County Parkway, Brighton. Meetings may also be viewed on our​ YouTube Channel.

Members of the Public may submit written comments on any matter within the Board’s subject matter jurisdiction through the agenda link below and the online comment system. The link is available at the time the agenda is posted, by 4:30 P.M. the Friday prior to the public hearing and will close at 4:30 P.M. the Monday prior to the public hearing.

Interpretation or Translation Accommodations

Anyone requiring interpretation or translation services for effective communication to participate in an Adams County program, service, or activity (such as a public meeting) should make the request as soon as possible but no later than seven days before the scheduled event.

Communication Accommodations

Anyone requiring an auxiliary aid, assistive listening equipment, alternative format, or other services for effective communication to participate in a program, service, or activity (meeting) should make the request as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event. Adams County Government will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in its programs, services, and activities, including qualified sign language interpreters and other ways of making information and communications accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.
